Just Being There Helps
There is strength in numbers. For thousands of Orange County residents living with HIV/AIDS, your presence at the Walk is a validation of their worth as members of our society. AIDS Walk Orange County is a day for them to be themselves. A day for them to live without the fear, shame and isolation that still sometimes comes with an HIV diagnosis. And it should be a day for you to be proud of the steps you are taking to help change someones life. A day to take notice of and be thankful for the friends and neighbors around you who share your concern for others in need. And it’s a day to stand up and be counted. A day for thousands of us to show that, contrary to lack of media evidence, we haven’t forgotten that people are still dying from AIDS.
Do You Believe in Magic?
The 25th Annual AIDS Walk Orange County will be an experience you won’t soon forget. From the moment you arrive at the Disneyland Resort and notice that you are one of only 10,000 folks who have the parks to themselves, you’ll realize how different this visit to the Disneyland Resort is going to be. It’s the perfect venue for a fun celebration of the lives saved, a thoughtful memorial for the lives lost and a commemoration of 25 years of the community’s support.
As you walk through Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park and Downtown Disney, you’ll be joined by some of your favorite Disney friends. They’ll be there to cheer you on and provide unique photo opportunities! Along the route, you will also learn about the history of HIV/AIDS in Orange County. This is an exclusive opportunity to experience the Disneyland Resort as you may never have before while learning a little about this disease that affects us all!
Join us Sunday, May 1, 2011, to support your community and believe the magic!
