World AIDS Day Art Contest

AIDS Services Foundation Orange County (ASF), in collaboration with the Port Theater, presents a Day With(out) Art on World AIDS Day, Friday, December 1st. Day With(out) Art began on December 1, 1989, as the national day of action and mourning in response to the AIDS crisis. AIDS Services Foundation is pleased to continue this national tradition through a program of community-based collaborative art projects, a live musical performance, inspiring speakers, and the student exhibition.

ASF is working with local schools to create original artwork to be displayed at the Port Theater in Newport Beach. The theme for this year’s World AIDS Day is Getting to Zero: ZERO new infections, ZERO deaths, ZERO stigma. This December 1st event will be a celebration of hope for a day when our next generation is HIV / AIDS free and the ones living with the disease live a full productive life.

In response to the World AIDS Day theme, participants will create panels inspired by five words: LOVE, HOPE, COMPASSION, PREVENTION, and COMMUNITY.

While we are making incredible strides reaching our vision, the sad reality is the majority of new infections in Orange County are taking place in our youth. We sincerely hope you’ll consider taking this opportunity to involve and educate your students about HIV/AIDS in our community.

All participants will be invited to ASF’s World AIDS Day reception and celebration at the Port Theater in Newport Beach. Dinner will be provided by 24 Carrots Catering.
